It not only enables simultaneous copying, printing, scanning, sending and faxing, it also delivers output at speeds of up to 25 ppm (letter), respectively, in monochrome and up to 23 ppm (letter), respectively, in brilliant color. The Color imageRUNNER model packs a great deal of productivity and technology into a convenient compact design. The Color Rapid Fusing System allows for short warm-up times and quick first-copy-out-times. And with 1200 dpi option, the Color imageRUNNER model can address more sophisticated document production needs.

The Color imageRUNNER model provides memory capacity of up to 1.5GB, an 80GB hard drive, and Canon's innovative MEAP® (Multifunctional Embedded Application Platform) technology for customized workflows.

A fast and reliable 50-sheet Duplexing Automatic Document Feeder (DADF) option enables you to efficiently scan/copy high-volume documents at up to 44 impressions per minute (ipm) at 300 dpi in black and white and color. Scan and save your originals in color, but choose to print in black and white or color depending on your situation.

The model offers an optional internal finisher that can corner or double-staple multipage documents without increasing the footprint of the device. The Inner 2 Way Tray option can also provide dual paths for output, providing separation of copies, prints or faxes.

Canon's proprietary UFR II printing technology is standard on every model. That means every Color imageRUNNER C2550 model is a true MFP right out of the box, ready to produce volumes of general business documents.

With standard Universal Send technology, the Color imageRUNNER model enables you to distribute scanned documents to multiple network destinations such as e-mail and Internet fax addresses, local Mail Boxes, fax, network folders, and document management systems in one simple operation. Color Universal Send offers powerful options to master creation, distribution, and archiving of your documents.

Significantly reduce large file sizes associated with color files by utilizing Canon's proprietary PDF High Compression technology. And with Canon's exclusive Trace and Smooth PDF option, text, line art and graphics in a scanned PDF document can be converted to scalable artwork (vector graphics data). The vector graphics are less jagged at the edge and can be manipulated in Adobe Illustrator to create elements for other documents.

The Universal Send PDF Security Feature Set (optional) provides advanced options to help prevent impersonation, unauthorized alteration, or interception of your documents. With Digital Device Signature mode, recipients can be assured of the originating device of documents. You can also protect the contents of your documents with the Encrypted PDF feature, and secure them with a password to restrict access, editing, and printing. The Digital User Signature option enables verification of your identity to recipients by adding your digital certificate to your documents.

Supports a host of Internet ready capabilities, including the optional Web Access Software that allows users to call up Internet or intranet data right on the user interface, and print Web Pages and downloadable PDF files when configured with the Canon print controller. The Web-based Distributed Authoring and Versioning (WebDAV) protocol, enables you to securely send documents to a shared storage service over the Internet.

Braille Label Kit-A1
The Braille Label Kit-A1 contains transparent Braille labels that affix to each hard key on the control panel except for the numeric keys. This is due to the conventional layout of the numeric keypad, which already has a protruded dot on the "five key," providing familiar entry for the visually impaired. This kit provides visually impaired users with improved access to copy and fax functions.

The Braille Label Kit-A1 can be used with imageRUNNER devices, as well as some Color Laser Copiers, NP Copier products, and LASER CLASS Facsimile.

Barcode Printing Kit-A1
Provides the ability to print bar codes on output. Requires UFRII/PCL/PS Printer Kit-R1. Activated through the License Management System.

Secure Watermark - A1
Enables you to embed hidden text in the background of copies/prints/scans. The embedded text will appear when copies of the document are made. Activated through the License Management System.

Remote Operators Software Kit-A2
A remote access that mirrors the device control panel functionality on a personal computer so seated users can program the system. Activated through the License Management System.

Universal Send PDF Security Feature Set-A1
Device Signature mode enables user to add a digital signature to PDF data, which enables the recipient to verify which device scanned it and tracks if the file has ben altered. With Encrypted PDF, a password can be set so that only users who enter the correct password can open, print, or edit the received PDF file.

Digital User Signature PDF Kit-A1
Digital User Signature Mode enables the user to add a digital signature to PDF dadta, which enables the recipient to verify which user scanned it and whether the document has been altered.

Encrypted Secured Print Software-C1
Encrypted Secured Print function provides two layers of security. The document data itself will be encrypted prior to being sent to the imageRUNNER/Color imageRUNNER/imagePRESS devices. The encrypted data is also password protected so that a correct password is needed to print out. After printed out, the job data will be deleted.

Access Management System Kit-A1
Administrators have control over access to the imageRUNNER Series and its functions for even greater security and cost control at both the user and group levels.

Voice Operation Kit-A1
Enables visually impaired users to be able to operate the copy functions of the device. These users can hear confirmations of the settings that are made, operate the device using their voice, or both.

HDD Data Erase Kit-A1
Temporary data will be overwritten and erased immediately after job completion and permanent data such as Mail Box information will be overwritten and erased after it is deleted. Three methods can be used: Overwrite Null Data One Time, Overwrite Random Data One Time or Overwrite Random Data three times.

HDD Data Encryption Kit-A1
Encrypts image data before writing to the HDD. Provides protection for both temporary and permanent data equipped with Canon MFP Security Chip 1.00 which is Common Criteria Certified.

Captaris is a Canon Solution Provider improving business efficiency and optimizing IT infrastructure by giving the organization and user better control over document flow and security. The Captaris RightFax Integration for MEAP tightly integrates with Canon imageRUNNER devices to consolidate faxing services on the network and provide users easy access to the extended document delivery features of RightFax directly at the Canon imageRUNNER.

As the first two-way dynamic integration between RightFax and Canon devices, the RightFax integration for MEAP gives users both walk-up access and a central point of control for hard-copy and electronic faxing. It transforms paper-based documents to electronic format, delivers the documents via standard fax, certified email or encrypted PDF and provides notifications and history for fax tracking and audit trails.
